Costs, Booking and Cancellations

£90 (1 hour)

​​​​Mediation
£180 per person per session (1.5 hours)
You will be contacted after both parties have had their MIAM's to book and arrange the first and any subsequent mediations. Mediation can take place on Zoom or face to face. ​​If you would like mediation to take place face to face/ in person then scroll to the bottom of this page to see the extra cost involved.

Family Mediation Voucher
FREE £500
The Government's Family Mediation Voucher scheme allows you to claim £500 towards the cost of mediation. You need to be mediating about child issues or this will not apply to you. You are also only allowed to use the voucher once. We are registered with the Family Mediation Voucher scheme. At your MIAM we can discuss this and will then make an application for you if you are eligible.

Legally Aided - on benefits eg Universal Credit?
FREE
MIAM and Mediation may be free if you are eligible for Legal Aid. You may be eligible if you receive, for example, Universal Credit. Please let us know if you think this applies to you and I can apply for Legal Aid for you. The assessment will involve filling in a form about your financial situation and providing the relevant evidence. Then the Legal Aid team will then determine whether or not you are successful. Child Inclusive Mediation
£90 per session (there is usually only one session)
The session lasts between 30 mins to 1 hour. Parents share the cost.

Memorandum of Understanding and Open Financial Statements
£100 per person for both documents
Some of you (especially those working towards reaching a financial settlement), may want a full Memorandum of Understanding and Open Financial statement to be drawn up at the conclusion of mediation.

Cancellation policy for MIAM:
If you cancel your appointment within 48 hours of the appointment you will get a full refund. If you cancel your appointment within 48-24 hours of the appointment you will get a 50% refund. If you cancel your appointment within 24 hours of the appointment your fee is non-refundable.
Cancellation policy for Mediation:
If one of you cancels your appointment within 48 hours of the appointment you will both get a full refund.
If you cancel your appointment between 48-24 hours of the appointment you will get a 50% refund but the other party will get a full refund.
If you cancel your appointment within 24 hours of the appointment then your fee is non refundable but the other party will get a full refund.
If your session is covered by Legal Aid or the Family Mediation Voucher and you cancel the session within 48 hours then £40 is due from the party who cancelled. This covers the mediator's costs and must be paid before another session will be rearranged.

In-person Mediation cost and Cancellation policy
Should you wish to meet in person then there is an additional £20 per person cost.
If the Legal Aid Agency is paying for the mediation then this amount is taken as a refundable deposit. If you turn up to the mediation then you will receive the money back. If you don't turn up at the mediation then the deposit is lost.
